Introduction post.
Hello!
So, my name is Dal, I'm bad at introducing myself, and so I figured a generalized catch-all might help me with actually doing that in a timely manner instead of just kind of dying of shyness for a month and realizing that people probably have no earthly clue who I am. As such, here we are!
I'm 32, a tremendous lesbian, and honestly kinda boring IRL but shhh. I've been in northern Virginia since 2011, where I live alone with a small set of marimo balls, about 15 miles from my parents. My relationship with them is good and improving after a long time of being the opposite of that. I'm disabled and so can't work; I was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 12, though at this point in my life I'm medicated and more or less functional at the level I'm at right now.
As far as RP goes, I'm in Recollé, LifeAftr, and Hotline! In Recollé I've got Albert Wesker (Resident Evil), Alexander von Cumore (Tales of Vesperia), and Artorius Collbrande (Tales of Berseria); in LifeAftr I've got Alexei Dinoia (Tales of Vesperia) and Albert Wesker (Resident Evil films, also Trustfell CRAU), and at Hotline I've got Michalis (Fire Emblem) - so to break it down, my active roster is:
50% shitty Tales villains
33% Just Some Variety of Albert Wesker
33% voiced by DC Douglas
66% world-endingly stupid
100% people for whom charisma is in theory a strong suit and in practice a dump stat
I don't really engage with any fandoms; I just kind of hang out on tumblr reblogging pretty art, photography, and lots of cats. The stuff I'm into are pretty much summed up by my muselist, honestly.
I've also modded a bunch of games, both long- and short-term; I'm currently half of a two-person mod team along with my best friend Redd, we do a lot of short-run games that are either murdergames or the exact opposite of that. Games I've helped run include Pokédressing (2009-2011), Route 29 (2013-2016), Dangan Roleplay (Round 2, 2014), Trustfell (2015-2017), and Azume (2018).
I...don't know what other specific information to give out here, uh. I like all kinds of music and am always receptive to people shoving stuff they like at me; I play video games and sometimes watch anime, I plurk a lot of memes and I really enjoy cats. My favorite movies are The Great Mouse Detective, The Crow, The Matrix, Pulp Fiction and Annihilation. My favorite superhero is a tie between Batman and Darkwing Duck. I love to drive and take road trips whenever I can afford them; if you live anywhere within a twelve-hour drive's radius from me (yes, seriously) let me know and I will gladly talk about coming to see you sometime if you want? I've driven to upstate New York, Boston, Michigan and Florida before, to give you an idea.
And just as a final note, I love shenanigans in my RP - the games I run all tend to play very fast and loose, and as a whole anyone who's known me for more than five minutes knows that I subscribe to the hilarity clause. The fastest way to get me to agree to anything is to precede it with BUT WOULDN'T IT BE FUNNY IF- or OKAY DAL BUT I HAVE A REALLY STUPID IDEA...
